Wardrobe Versatility

2:07 PM

I was on the phone with one of my best friends and we were talking about shopping, of course, and she mentioned a recent shoe purchase she made. We both spend majority of our time at work and nights out are seldom.

It got me thinking about the way that I shop and my clothing selections. My friends make fun of me because I pick up pieces and say "OOOOH, I can wear this to work too!" when we're shopping for something to go out in.

My theory is that if I can wear it more than once then its worth the price, or whatever I'm willing to pay for it. I spend all my time at work and I have the weekend off. I do admit that I sometimes feel like bumming it and might look like I didnt put any effort into my outfit when I walked out of the house. I have REALLY been feeling that way as of late because I have been working overtime.

Anyway, I said all of that to say that your wardrobe should be versatile. When making purchases, make choices that are parallel to your lifestyle. If you spend most of your time in the club, then of course your wardrobe will consist of more trendy pieces or just pieces in general for the night life.

In my case, I work 11:30am to 8pm. My ENTIRE day is spent at work in a cubicle, so I tend to purchase button front shirts, tops that are work appropriate but cute enough to go out in and footwear that can be worn whenever. Dont get me wrong, I like certain trends and randomly incorporate them into my wardrobe but they arent always work appropriate.

In conclusion, versatility can be budget friendly and provides more wardrobe options in the long run. Chic!
